Christmas Cheer 2023

Our 2023 Christmas concert of songs and readings for the festive season was held at The Albany Church, Haverfordwest on Friday 15th December.

We were delighted to welcome Nathan Sussex as our reader. Nathan is best known for playing series regular Buster Smith in Hollyoaks.

Our programme held a mix of traditional and modern carols with solos from Kathryn Yabsley (soprano) singing “An old carol” and Frances Oates (mezzo soprano) with “What child is this”

Our audience was invited to participate in The Christmas song, and did a pretty good job too.

Everyone was invited to join us in the church hall following the concert for festive foods prepared by choir members and what a delightful selection adorned the tables. An excellent evening enjoyed by all!

Dappled Delight

We received a warm welcome at Rhosygilwen on Sunday 24th November when we joined Cor Tiefi for Dappled Delight & Musical Virtue. The concert took place in the Oak Hall and we, along with Cor Teifi, performed a variety of pieces in several languages including French and German as well as English and Welsh. Our Musical Director, Dr. Nancy Mann, took her place in the string section of the Teifi Orchestra, standing only to conduct us for ‘Mid-Winter’. We were accompanied on flute by Griff Harries with Sarah Jane Absalom on piano. Mr. Henry Ward conducted both orchestra and choirs.

Christmas Cheer!

Our next concert will take place at St. Mary’s Church in Haverfordwest.  We will perform ‘Christmas Cheer’ under the baton of our Musical Director Nancy accompanied as usual by Gerry. We welcome our special guest, actor Nathan Sussex, in a celebration of songs and readings for the Festive Season.
